When could Poldark season 5 start filming in the UK?

Even though Poldark has only been off the air a short period of time, that isn’t stopping up from starting to raise some questions!

Today, we’re especially looking towards season 5 with what we feel is a reasonably-simple question: When is the show going to start filming? This is set to potentially be the final season, and with that we imagine that filming is going to be an especially emotional experience. While acting is somewhat of a nomadic gig, there are still some opportunities where you get to form a family unit with some of the people around you. This has been an opportunity for Aidan Turner, other cast members, and the crew to do that. They’ve headed out on location for years and spent many months of the year together. Letting go after all of this is not going to be a particularly easy thing to do.

So in getting to the question at the heart of this article, we do expect season 5 filming to begin in the relatively near future. Writer Debbie Horsfield has been work on some scripts for the upcoming season for a good while now, and we figure that she can easily finish up work on those in the coming months. Season 4 kicked off filming in early September, and we certainly think that a similar timeline could be used here. The last thing that we think producers, the cast, or the crew want to do is be out in the majority of the winter. If the timeline for season 5 is the same as season 4, they could be done before having to deal with all of the colder weather.

The final weeks of filming are bound to be the most emotional. While we do think there is mild interest in maybe coming back years down the line (odds are, there will be some more story from the source material to tell), there’s no guarantee that this will ever happen. A lot of it could just depend on what happens in the careers of some of the performers.
