Is Heida Reed leaving Poldark following the events of the season 4 finale on the BBC Sunday night? There are some spoilers within!

Going into this episode, we certainly had our fair share of anxiety about what would happen to the Elizabeth character, and for good reason. After all, the previews suggested that she could take something in an attempt to induce labor and, as a result of that, there could be some dire consequences. All of this was an attempt to try to convince George that Valentine was in fact his child, which was a source of great strife for some time.

We first saw Elizabeth struggle at around the 37-minute mark of the episode, not long after she decided to take her “medication.” She did welcome her daughter Ursula and not long after that, it actually felt as though she was going to be okay. However, in the minutes that followed it was clear that she was suffering and her blood circulation was starting to be cut off.

About ten minutes out from the end of episode, Elizabeth died as a result of what she did to try and give Valentine a better life. She was often a polarizing character, but her death did prove the real nature of her heart. She wanted nothing more than to make the life better of a young man who needed the love of his father.

Ultimately, losing Reed at this point is very sad because she did bring a lot to a character who had a tremendous amount of highs and lows. Yet, she told this story with the right amount of power and justice. We are very much eager to see what she does next in the aftermath of this story.
