The Bachelor: Is Jason Tartick instant favorite after elimination?
If people were not rooting for the man before, consider this: Jason brought Becca a scrapbook with their memories together after being sent home once; then, he got sent away again. Maybe this was a deliberate part of a last-second campaign for him to win her over, but even if it wasn’t, this was an excellent part of a Bachelor campaign since it showed sincerity and hard work. We know that the final two in Garrett and Blake are polarizing, to say the least, and the other candidate we can consider right now is Wills. We like him and it’d be great to see an African-American Bachelor, but we’ve never seen someone star in three consecutive editions of the show. (Wills is a part of Bachelor in Paradise this summer.)
Ultimately, we feel like ABC will make their decision official a little bit later this summer, but for now, we do think it is valuable that they go ahead and bring Jason on board. What the show’s missed out on with both Nick Viall and Arie Luyendyk Jr. as leads is figuring out a way to get someone with universal appeal. While Nick had a lot of fans, for example, he was not universally popular. ABC has bet more on controversy and easy selling points with their Bachelors as of late. It makes sense now for them to bet on someone who the fans want who is current and relevant from the past season of The Bachelorette.
Also, what other candidates from the franchise are really out there and available? We know that there was an interest in Wells for some time, but he’s doing more than fine now.
