The Last Ship season 5 premiere date remains up in the air
There was some hope recently that TNT had gone through and officially announced a start date for the Eric Dance series recently, TVLine reports that this is not the case. There is no premiere date just yet and while we personally hope that it is August on the other side of Claws, it’s a little bit too early to know anything for sure (though it really shouldn’t be, given that we knew the premiere date already at this time in 2017).
For those who do want a little bit more insight when it comes to what lies ahead, here is what star Bridget Regan had to say to the aforementioned website:
“We do jump ahead, again, quite a lot of time — which we did for Season 4, which I liked. It shows that the writers are only showing you the really exciting stuff that’s happening in this world. The actual nuts and bolts of spreading the new, healthy crop, feeding people… we skip past that until we come up to our next big challenge.”
This challenge hopefully is going to be the culmination of everything that we’ve seen on the series to date, largely because of the fact that if we’re going to be coming to the end of the road, we want it to be as epic and magnificent as possible. These episodes should offer up not only plenty of action, but also some great character drama as they build towards an endgame. We know that they wrapped up filming for season 5 a long time ago, so there are no production reasons that seem to be holding up the show coming out with more installments. Fingers crossed we just get an opportunity to see them soon, since it really feels like we’ve all collectively waited long enough.
