Chicago Fire season 7: Is Katie coming back?
In a recent post on Twitter (see below), Haas shared a one-word image that says quite a bit: “Katie.” There’s one person who immediately comes to mind after seeing this, and that is of course Katie Nolan, Severide’s half-sister and a former Otis love interest. When we last saw Katie on the series, she was leaving town in order to start a new life somewhere else — which is understandable, given that she went through some really traumatic stuff and it’s hard to blame her for wanting to get a new start somewhere else.
A Katie return does raise a number of different questions (if it’s really her coming back), starting with why she would return at this point and if this means that Otis’ love life could start to get more complicated. We know that he had a relationship with Lily for much of the second half of season 6, but anything could change depending on where things go at the start of season 7. Chicago Fire — and really all of One Chicago in general — does tend to operate in such a way where it operates close to what’s happening in real time. With that in mind, we wouldn’t be shocked if there is some sort of big time jump at the start of the season. A lot can happen in a few months.
More than likely, Katie’s possible return is independent of Otis — we just like writing about Otis because we love the guy.
Chicago Fire season 7 will premiere on NBC in September — hopefully, we’re going to get quite a bit more in the way of updates between now and then.
