Want to help get some Timeless deleted scenes online?

While we wait to learn whether or not Timeless is renewed for another season over at NBC, do you want to get some deleted scenes? The folks working behind the scenes at the writers room are doing what they can to help promote the show’s renewal effort further and their timing is nothing short of brilliant.

Why is that? Let’s remind you of this — tomorrow marks the kick-off to a three-day weekend, which in other terms means a time in which networks love to bury news as though zero media ever works weekends anymore. It was an effective strategy fifteen years ago that currently holds little water. Anyhow, the Timeless writers are doing something that’s super-smart here in that they are generating discussion about their show at a time that should help to ensure that they are not forgotten. If NBC decides to still take the easy way out and cancel the show Friday, we do hope that there are some people who will call them out on it.

Anyway, here’s what the writers had to say on Twitter.

Seems like a smart trade-off — help to save the show, and get some deleted scenes in return. While sometimes asking for retweets in return for a reward can feel a little shameless, it’s not here because there is such a specific purpose in mind: Making sure that Timeless is renewed. This is giving fans something they want and, in turn, hopefully getting the writers something that they want: A chance to keep their jobs. That’s the thing that can be easy to forget sometimes in the midst of saving a show — there are actual jobs on the line here. While many of these people are talented enough so that they can get work somewhere else, that doesn’t mean that they should have to by any means.

For now, we remain hopeful about the show’s future, largely because A) we know that Timeless has a diehard fan base interested in saving the show and B) what else is NBC going to put on the air Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern in the spring? This doesn’t stop us from being worried about possible bad news tomorrow, but sometimes, it’s best to try and put the best foot forward.

Rest assured, once there is more news on Timeless we will have a report from you here! You can also like CarterMatt on Facebook to secure more information the moment we have more news. (Photo: NBC.)
