Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 22 is coming up on NBC next week and there is one thing we can happily say right now: This is not the finale! There are still two more episodes coming up on the other side of this and we more than anticipate some big surprises and other drama coming in the finale. There will of course be plenty of time to discuss these episodes so for now, let’s focus in on “Mama.” This is the bad news: There are going to be some moments in this episode that are very difficult to watch. We’ve already gone on the record saying that this may be one of the more challenging SVU episodes we’ve ever seen just from the vantage point of giving us some really harrowing material to have to digest.

Below, the SVU season 19 episode 22 synopsis offers up some additional information right now when it comes to what lies ahead:

05/16/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : An Alzheimer’s patient (guest star Fionnula Flanagan) claims she was raped, but her illness casts doubt on the case. Meanwhile, Fin’s sergeant orders come in. Also starring Mariska Hargitay, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Philip Winchester. Also guest starring Anne Archer (Trudy Morris), Hal Linden (Leonard Maxwell), Joe Piscopo (Albert Romano), Amy Korb (Pamela Stone), Todd Alan Crain (Henry Phillips), and Kathleen McNenny (Christine Ritchie). TV-14 D

In pure NBC fashion the list of guest stars is actually just about as large as the synopsis, but it is good to see there being a little bit of good news for Fin thrown into everything else that is coming up. This is an episode that should be ripe with drama, and to go along with that we’ve got a feeling that there are going to be plenty of shockers around just about every turn.
