Deception episode 9 preview: Going undercover goes awry
What made Sunday night’s episode spectacular was mostly that it offered up a different perspective on the show’s central conceit, giving you a better sense not only of how Cameron pulled off his latest deception, but also a little more insight into the Mystery Woman and what her next move could be. She is almost the Moriarty to Cameron’s Holmes and Jonathan’s Watson — the comparison may be a little loose, but they all are playing a sort of game with each other that involves torment and intellectual warfare. It’s also now clear that MW is out to ruin both Jonathan and Cameron in their own ways.
Moving forward, this story will continue, but it does also seem as though there are going to be some other cases and problems that are introduced in the process. The series can’t continue their two-part event forever — hence it being only two parts. There are some other experiments that they will try on coming up.

That doesn’t exactly give too much away, but luckily, the latest promo via ABC is a little bit more revealing. You have a rather amusing undercover mission that clearly seems to annoy Kay, but to go along with all of that, you do also have an emotional reveal when it comes to just how much trust Kay really has in Cameron at this point. She may have her reasons for feeling the way she feels, but does that make it any less gut-wrenching?
