Is Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 21 going to be a very important story for Ice-T and his character of Fin? Based on some of the first information that is out there about it, that seems to be the case.

Let’s kick things off here by explaining for a moment some of what we know at present. The title for this episode is “Guardian,” and the synopsis below gives you a small sense as to why Ice T’s character is front and center:

05/09/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : Fin (Ice T) investigates a man’s claim that his sister was gang raped. Also starring Mariska Hargitay, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Philip Winchester. Guest starring Rotimi Akinosho, Maul Donte Davis, Rachel Hilson, Big Daddy Kane, George Wallace, Amanda Warren and Kymbali Craig.

What makes Fin the one leading the investigation? That’s certainly one of the things that you should be wondering at this very moment. Beyond that, of course NBC is not exactly giving too much away in advance. We do like Fin-centric episodes very much given that he enters the case with such a different perspective and worldview that we see elsewhere. He’s smart, he’s savvy, and at times he can utilize his experiences in a way that few others can.

One other thing that is worth noting here is that “Guardian” is going to lead into the home stretch of the season — we hope that as we inch closer to the finale, there are going to be more opportunities for character spotlights and also for timely, relevant cases.

Is it possible that we’re building up to a big cliffhanger here at the tail end of the finale? We wouldn’t be shocked; after all, the writers have to have some confidence that there will be a season 20.
