Supernatural season 13 episode 18 spoilers: Danneel Ackles returns

Supernatural season 13 episode 18 is entitled “Bring ’em Back Alive,” and we imagine that one of the primary challenges will be simple: Continuing to find a way to keep momentum going. When you have an episode that is so big, crazy, and successful like the Scooby-Doo episode was, it’s pretty easy to have some sort of slump on the other side of that.

Luckily, it seems as though the producers are doing what they can to take some steps in order to prevent that from happening. Bringing back Danneel Ackles and Richard Speight Jr. is a great way to get things going in the right direction!

DANNEEL ACKLES AND RICHARD SPEIGHT JR. RETURN – Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) rules over heaven but things aren’t going exactly as planned, exasperating his first lady, Jo (guest star Danneel Ackles). Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are perplexed by the return of Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight Jr.). Meanwhile, Dean (Jensen Ackles) gets one step closer to finding Mary and Jack. Amyn Kenderali directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1318). Original airdate 4/12/2018.

It’s nice to get that confirmation that Danneel is coming back for multiple episodes this season, and we hope that she can recur in the future much in the way that Speight and Pellegrino have. It really says a lot about both the show and the cast/crew that there are so many actors who are willing to come back and do more stories down the road, regardless of what’s going on with their career. (In the case of Speight, he’s also been a Supernatural episode director as of late.)

As for whether or not Jo, Gabriel, or Lucifer are completely essential to this season’s endgame, it’s still a little too early to know! If they are still around come the middle of May, we may be more confident to say this.
