Why Shadowhunters season 3 should be the creepiest yet

The Shadowhunters season 3 premiere is officially coming up on Freeform Tuesday night and if there’s one thing CarterMatt can say about it, it’s this: You’re looking at arguably the creepiest season of the show to date. While it will contain many of the familiar elements you love, (whether it be romance, action, or Shadowhunter mythology) this is also going to be sure to give yo the chills on more than one occasion.

Here are a few reasons why you should be prepared for what is coming up.

1. Lilith – It’s the mother of demons and therefore someone who has both a super-freaky demonic form and is capable of bringing out the worst in almost everyone. Her character marks an escalation from the first two seasons, where we’ve seen other demons tackled.

2. Jonathan – He may not be alive as of right now, but is that really going to last? Lilith seems intent on reviving him and when you think about everything that he did in season 2, much of that chaos is probably going to escalate with him back in the picture for season 3.

3. The current state of Jace – At the end of season 2 the character found himself getting a second life thanks to Clary but you have to know that there are going to be some serious ramifications that come with that. You’ll see some of this play out over the first half of the season; whatever Jace is becoming could be a threat to almost everyone.

4. Simon and the Seelie Court – They’re an interesting group in that they operate with their own unique code; while on the surface they live within a beautiful and lush kingdom, the control that they have over the flora of their locale is something you should be concerned over.
