Law & Order: SVU season 19 spoilers: Seinfeld alum Wayne Knight to guest star

Wayne Knight is pretty much an iconic character actor at this point in between Seinfeld, Jurassic Park, Narcos, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Exes, Torchwood, and more — he is also the latest addition now coming on board Law & Order: SVU season 19.

According to Entertainment Weekly, you will see Knight appear in an episode slated for April as the manager of a fairly seedy motel, one that becomes the setting of a crime scene after an escort is raped. Given that this is Wayne Knight we’re talking about here we have to assume that he will be a part of more than just a single scene within the hour.

Probably the biggest surprise, at least to CarterMatt, is that Knight has actually not appeared within an episode of the Law & Order franchise to date. This is often a go-to destination for actors at one point or another in their career, but this will be his first opportunity to dive into this world.

Law & Order: SVU returned on Wednesday for its first new episode since the departure of Raúl Esparza, and you are going to have a chance to see many more installments in the weeks to come. The series has to find a new rhythm with Philip Winchester now on board as a series regular — not that this will be too challenging, given that he’s doing a great job to date.

We’re assuming that this will be a one-and-done appearance for Knight, given that this is the way that the vast majority of guest spots go within SVU. Yet, at the same time nobody should close the door on additional opportunities potentially coming down the road! Why would you want to?
