NCIS: New Orleans season 4: Could Rachel Modine accelerate Percy, LaSalle relationship?
On Tuesday night’s new episode of the CBS drama there were certainly some interesting hints sprinkled in regarding Rachel, an “old friend” of LaSalle’s turned his family’s lawyer, and what her relationship with him could be in the present. There was some clear awkwardness in the scene with the two of them and Percy, especially after he called his beloved City Mouse his “co-worker” in front of her. If there’s ever a way to make someone upset who has a special connection with you, it’s calling them a “co-worker” or some other super-blasé term that doesn’t hold a whole lot of meaning.
Yet, could this moment actually serve as a way to push things forward with these two characters? CarterMatt thinks that there is actually a reasonably good chance of this for a number of different reasons, beginning with the fact that this moment could force Percy to take a closer look at feelings that she has and realize that if she wants Chris in a way that is beyond just “co-worker” status – she may have to fight for him more. We think there are mutual feelings there, but the two are repressing them. Either this could inspire her to make a move or it’s possible that she could find someone to spark jealousy from him. We thought it was possible we were going to have that earlier this season when Percy’s past came back in the form of a different sort of former colleague; yet, that didn’t really happen.
If things are going to start to materialize between Percy and LaSalle, we hope that it’s later this season. We’ve effectively had plenty of time now to see the relationship between these two characters in other permutations and we think that, over time, it makes sense for the series to explore things in other ways. There’s a lot of really interesting stuff that could come out of Percy and LaSalle being a couple, including how they handle some of those feelings out on the job and what Pride and some other characters think about it.

We know that it’s unlikely such a big move for PerSalle will happen until the end of the season … but we’re still crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.
