The Bachelor premiere: How Chelsea Roy, Kendall Long make first impressions
There are a few people who you should pay attention to almost right away — the ABC synopsis of the first cocktail party offers up some hints:
Chelsea wastes no time luring Arie away once he enters the mansion, serving notice to the rest of the bachelorettes – game on! TV host Jessica, whose father once met Arie at a racetrack, believes they were meant to be together. Stunning Jacqueline questions Arie about why he never found real love since Emily. Kendall, who is obsessed with taxidermy, decides to entertain Arie on her ukulele. And one self-assured woman, Brittany, dares Arie to race her riding miniature racecars.
Ultimately, Arie makes his first difficult decision as he offers the much-sought-after first impression rose to a bold beauty. The long, stressful evening ends on a high note for 21 lucky women, who will continue on the path to capture Arie’s heart.
Chelsea Roy is going to be an interesting contender right out of the gate — she has some commonality with Arie in that she’s working to get more involved in real estate. Also, she’s a single parent and we know that he has experience in dating single parents thanks to Emily Maynard. Meanwhile, Kendall Long feels like the early contender to be the quirky/strange contestant given that has a ukulele and has some very unusual hobbies. These are the two who stand out to us the most here, since otherwise we’re hearing about Brittany and Jessica, whose stories don’t seem as interesting other than Jessica’s dad apparently having a connection with Arie from her past. You knew that someone was going to try and race Arie just because of his racing gig. (The irony here is that Arie, while a driver, hasn’t actually won all that many races over the past several years.)
