The Bachelor spotlight: Meet Jenna Cooper, aspiring fitness star

If you were to throw Emily Maynard and Peter Kraus into one person, you’d probably have The Bachelor contestant Jenna Cooper. She’s really into promoting both fitness and beauty, and if you visit her Instagram it seems tailor-made for her to become a social-media star after the show. Given that her ABC bio lists her occupation as “social media manager,” we’ve got a good feeling that she knows precisely what she’s doing in terms of building her brand.

Also, it feels pretty clear why she’s on the show — she probably auditioned hoping that Peter would be the lead and they could form some sort of husband-and-wife fitness empire. Well … it’s Arie Luyendyk Jr. instead. Congratulations? The funny thing is that she looks so much like Emily that Arie may have an interest in her right away. She’s even living in North Carolina! (Her hometown is listed as being in Indiana in her bio.) We don’t know if she was cast for having so much in common with Emily, but it’s interesting.

Jenna seems like one of those people who’s destined to make it at least four or five episodes just because of her personality. She comes across as outgoing and sociable, which should really help her stand out in the early going on this season. She’ll make an impression on Arie and be confident enough to stick around for a little while. Whether it be Indiana or North Carolina, she’s been in parts of the country that probably understand his profession a little bit more than most. That gives her a leg up when it comes to connecting with him.

We do love that she lists one of her favorite movies as The Princess Bride, and at 28 she’s around the age of women who often go far in the show these days.

What are her chances? – Like we said, Jenna has the personality to go far this season, but we do almost wonder whether Arie is going to look for someone who, in the end, isn’t a blonde woman living in North Carolina. That’s unfair to Jenna but wouldn’t be surprised if he subconsciously holds that against her. She’ll probably be gone before hometowns but we have a hard time imagining that this will be the last we see of her on this franchise.
