Lucifer season 3 fall finale: Did Lucifer kill the Sinnerman?
This episode brought us the showdown that we were really looking forward to seeing between Lucifer Morningstar and the Sinnerman, the main villain of the season to date. For most of the episode we saw Lucifer desperate to get answers from the guy as to why he was doing what he was, why he was captured, and also what he ultimately should do to him. Was it the right move to kill the Sinnerman? At one point in the hour Lucifer actually thought so — he viewed this as the prime opportunity to kill him, get rid of his wings, and get his devil face back once and for all.
Yet, he didn’t have the opportunity to do that himself — for one, learning that the Sinnerman wanted to die at his hand almost immediately negated his desire to do the deed. Then, Marcus shot the Sinnerman before he had a chance to do anything at all. What in the world was behind this? Given how quickly we saw Marcus pull the trigger, we certainly felt as though something was up. Apparently, so did Lucifer. He started to put together some clues that maybe, the Sinnerman was working for someone else — and that someone was Pierce. He confronted him, realized that he was immortal, and figured out who he was. He was Cain, the first murderer and a powerful Biblical figure in his own right.
As for what Cain wants with Lucifer now, and what the remainder of the story will be, we’re going to have to wait to find out!
Elsewhere in the episode, we saw Charlotte agree to a date with Dan — while still dealing with a struggle of her own when it comes to her kids. This was an amusing little sideplot, one that we hope to see more of. The relationship between Dan and Charlotte is fun — it’s probably on much better footing than what it’s going to be with Ella and Cain when she learns the truth about him.
