Nashville season 6 spoilers: Ilse DeLange of The Voice Holland to play singing-show judge
As per a report from Deadline, singer Ilse DeLange is going to recur on the final season of the country-music show in the role of Ilsa, a superstar singer from Holland who just so happens to be a judge on a singing show set within the world of Nashville. Early indications suggest that she’s going to spend a little bit of time with Daphne.
This is going to be a fun story to watch, mostly because we’re always very fascinated to see precisely how scripted shows choose to present reality TV. This is probably one of the many things that we enjoy about UnREAL, a show that gets as subversive as possible when it comes to its skewering of the entire reality TV format. It’s going to be hard for the show to top that but we’re more than excited to see them try.
The story of Nashville season 6 is probably going to feature a wide array of conflicts, with many of them coming about in new and fairly-unexpected ways. You have to remember that this is the final season of the show, and with that there’s even more pressure in order for the writers to tie together all loose ends. We’re going to see Juliette trying to move forward in her career despite some pass obstacles, and potentially some other struggles for other people to stardom. There are 16 episodes coming, with the first batch airing on CMT in winter. Meanwhile, the second batch of stories is going to be coming up in the summer. Nashville has been a fan favorite the entirety of its run, and for DeLange we imagine that some of the excitement here has to come with doing something that is entirely different than anything that she’s done in the past. She may be playing a somewhat-familiar role, but it’s on American television.
