Blindspot season 3 episode 6 offers up a temporary common enemy: Hirst
For a little more on this uneasy alliance at present, executive producer Martin Gero had the following to say to Entertainment Weekly:
“They’re united against Hirst, but there are still some big looming secrets … What happened in Berlin? What is that dragonfly tattoo that Zapata and Keaton were so worried about and so on. Lots of big surprises still left in store this season!”
We know that Mary Stuart Masterson is going to return next week, and with that the Hirst story won’t be skipping a beat for now. We may be reminded of the Blindspot of old for at least however long that she is around; beyond that, though, we’ve got many other mysteries that the series could still have to explore. (Our feeling, if we were a writer on the show, is to do this — spend the next two episodes focusing on Hirst as the main adversary only to move into new ground in the new year. Roman isn’t going anywhere, and therefore there is still some more time to focus on some other people.)
The funny thing here is that whenever we do get some closure to the Hirst storyline, Berlin, or some of the others that have been set up throughout the season, there’s a perfectly good chance that there will be a few other questions that are raised and become the focal point. With Blindspot, at least through the series’ run so far, it’s become an almost-endless cycle.
