Alex O’Loughlin’s dream Hawaii Five-0 season 8 guest star — Obama
Alex O’Loughlin has had a chance to work with many of these great guest stars over the years, so it does make some sense that he is setting the bar high in trying to get a former President on board! Speaking to ET Canada during the recent Sunset on the Beach event, O’Loughlin said that his dream guest star is none other than Barack Obama — a casting that does make some sense. After all, Obama was born in Hawaii (contrary to what some people may think). This marks a chance to get a someone from Hawaii on the show and get some Hawaii Five-0 ratings boosts at the same time. Over the past ten or so months since Donald Trump’s Inauguration, Obama has stayed out of the public eye — or at least how much out of the public eye that a man in his position can.
Will this actually happen? There’s probably a 1% chance just because Obama, (even if he is out of the public eye) is probably still very busy — much more so than anyone probably knows. He’s also got a book that he’s working on. As much as we’d want to see it, we’re also unfortunately in such a partisan society right now that even a random, non-political cameo appearance would probably cause people to freak out. We don’t want to see Hawaii Five-0 develop any sort of political agenda, but something like this could be fun.
Some of the other great guest stars on the show over the years include Nick Jonas, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Jimmy Buffett, Ziggy Marley, Jerry Rice, Michael and Martellus Bennett, Carol Burnett, Jaleel White, and many more. They’ve done a great job of getting a mix of everyone from athletes to actors to comedians to everyone in between. The show works in such a way that it’s easy to get cameos into the story — anyone could be out on vacation in the islands!
Anything on Hawaii Five-0 is possible, so we’ll cross our fingers that somehow, Obama does find a way to figure into the story … even if it’s hard to imagine how it happens.
