Victoria season 2 episode 5 teasers: Complications and the trip ahead

Victoria season 2 episode 5 is airing on ITV this weekend, and it’s almost an understatement to say that the first trip overseas for the Queen will be difficult. It’s unfamiliar territory for her for one, and her husband is going to be very much distracted based on what happened at the end of this past episode. (Warning: Spoilers ahead for US viewers! Victoria will premiere stateside at some point in the new year on PBS.)

Basically, Albert is entering this episode in a state of relative shock, knowing that his family history is a little different than he first thought. How much does he choose to tell his wife? In any typical marriage, trust is the foundation for everything. However, things are a tad different within the world of Victoria, knowing that any wrong thing said can lead to harsh or even at-times devastating consequences. This could be something that weighs heavily on the head of Albert as this season progresses and we see more of his personal story develop. This should lead to some exciting storytelling, and we’re certainly intrigued to see how things start to unfold with these characters. At the end of the day, the largest question is simply this: Will Albert’s fear of judgment get in the way, and will he find himself at the end of the day a victim to some of his own concerns over getting found out? He has to figure out much of this.

For Victoria, she has very clearly some of her own problems to worry about in this episode, as she bears some fears over a marriage and potential alliance between France and Spain. There is a scandal brewing at the French Court, and it is not going to sit well with Albert. This is why he decides to break away from the situation, and there are some clips out there of him opting to get away by taking a deep in a nearby waterfall.

No matter what happens in this episode, we imagine that it’s going to eventful — Victoria and Albert always do seem to persevere, but it isn’t always easy for them.
