Midnight, Texas episode 9 return date: Enter sandstorm
If you didn’t catch it, the next installment, ( which is also the penultimate one of the season), is actually coming on the air Wednesday. The original plan was for episode 9 to air tomorrow night alongside America’s Got Talent, which would’ve been a pretty good lead-in for the show. However, that plan was shifted due to a Hurricane Harvey telethon that is airing tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, an event that is pushing the start of AGT back an hour. Sometimes, things are more important than a show getting ratings, and while Midnight, Texas would have performed well on Tuesday, here’s to hoping that all of its fans check out the show on Wednesday, as well. We here at CarterMatt actually think that it’s performed better than expected, but the ratings still put it on the bubble. If it performs well for these final two hours, there’s a good chance that it finds its way back for a second season next summer.
Below, you can get an assortment of additional news right now in terms of what is coming up on the show story-wise.
Midnight, Texas episode 9 synopsis – “An apocalyptic sandstorm engulfs Midnight concealing wraith-like demonic spirits heralding the arrival of a demon from Hell. Fiji (Parisa Fitz-Henley) knows this demon wants her and Bobo (Dylan Bruce) vows to protect her, while wondering why the demon has targeted Fiji and no one else. Manfred (François Arnaud), Joe (Jason Lewis) and the Rev (Yul Vazquez) dig for answers from the past, but when the storm gets too dangerous, Manfred leads the Midnighters to an unlikely hiding spot outside of town. Olivia (Arielle Kebbel) confronts Lem (Peter Mensah) about their relationship, and Creek (Sarah Ramos) helps Manfred when he needs it most.”
The promo does illuminate even more of the story, with a sandstorm arriving in the town and with questions really starting to form as to whether or not these people should even briefly entertain the idea of leaving. At this point, it clearly seems like the safer option. Yet, we’ve seen time and time again some of these people fight for their town and for their future; with that in mind, we do very much think that it’s something that probably will continue the rest of the season. Over these final two episodes, we expect a battle for the town like no other, and Manfred doing everything that he can to get help, supplies, and hope on his side. Hopefully, the show ties things together well enough in the end that a crazy cliffhanger doesn’t leave you wondering what could’ve been if the show doesn’t return.
