Teen Wolf season 6 episode 14 spoilers: Scott McCall, motivational speaker
In the sneak peek below, what you effectively see is one thing: Liam hiding in bed, trying his best to pretend as though nothing terrible has transpired with him. We do understand some of how he’s feeling, given the fact that there are hunters out there and we did just see someone killed off on this past episode. This is a tough time for werewolves, and it’s an angle that the show has never quite explored before. These characters are effectively heroes, doing everything that they can in order to help those around them. Unfortunately for them, they are also realizing in the process that there are people out there not altogether interested in supporting them as such. People don’t often recognize a hero to their face — they are afraid of it, especially when it is perceived as different than them. This is especially so when you consider the fact that these perceived differences are pointed out more by hunters. There are people intent on pushing people apart.
What would Beacon Hills look like without heroes? Would it be chaos, or do people like Gerard Argent really think that they would get their town back to whatever false pretense that they want for it? There’s a reason for Liam to be afraid or despondent, but there’s also a reason to keep fighting. You have to take pride in your own work and have confidence in yourself, even if some other people out there refuse to acknowledge it the same exact way.
For the record, we love that Teen Wolf is taking some of the risks that it is in the final season, given that some of the issues that it is touching on here are rather political in nature and very much risky. You run the risk of someone being dissatisfied with you just because they see the message as somewhat similar to present-day, but you also give your viewers something to think about. While hunters have been a core part of the series’ overall mythology for years, we do at the same time appreciate that the series has taken things to another level of drama and discourse with the story this time around.
Before we conclude this story, consider this yet another reminder that there are going to be two episodes airing this weekend. Because of the MTV Video Music Awards that are coming up at the end of the month, the network is doubling up Sunday to make up for it.
