The Flash season 4: Should we get another Harrison Wells?
Well, at the moment, two of these different incarnations of the character are now dead, and we’re left only with the Earth-2 version, who seems to be the one sticking around at the moment. This makes the most sense, given that he is the version with the most ties to the team at this point thanks to Wally West, his skill set, and the friendship that he’s formed with Cisco. Unless there’s some emergency over on Earth-2, there may not be a reason for him to leave anytime soon, either.
Should we get to see some other iterations of Wells in the future? We do think that it’d be super-fun to see a suave, athletic, and completely disinterested version of him running around Central City, even if it’s just a one-off character who we never end up seeing again. Or, it’d also work if we got to see a meta-human version of him that isn’t just the Reverse-Flash iteration. What if he has a power that’s completely useless, such as turning into a mouse or being able to lightly toast bread? There’s something there that the CW – DC universe hasn’t really explored, and that is the idea that not every meta should have powers that can alter the course of history.
The biggest reason to consider a new Wells, even with Harry still around, is the presence of Tom Cavanagh. He’s such a charismatic guy that he can do so many different things. Why not take advantage of that? We also figure that for Tom, there may also be something very fun about getting to come on every season and play different versions of the same guy. He’s one of the most renowned actors that they have, and obviously they want to utilize his comedic charm and ability to have soft, heartfelt scenes.
What do you think: Should we see the Earth-2 version of Harry on season 4, or are we better off seeing a new version? Share below!
