Rob Lowe is a busy man these days. He’s got his series regular role on the CBS series, Code Black and two films that are set to be released this year. Now Lowe has added another project to his busy schedule, and this one is a personal one.

A&E has released the trailer for an upcoming reality series, starring Rob Lowe and his two sons, Matthew and John Owen called The Lowe Files. The new show follows Lowe and his two sons and their adventures exploring legends and myths.

The trailer reveals that Lowe has always loved legends and mysteries and after his sons were born, the three of them bonded over their love of the unexplained. When the boys were little Lowe took them on their own adventures in search of ghosts and Big Foot, but they never got any answers. Until now.

Together, the trio will travel around the country to hunt down supernatural phenomena and any infamous unsolved mysteries, such as ghosts and aliens.

Each episode will follow a case-of-the-week format, where Lowe and his sons will hunt down a mystery, or legend  and immerse themselves into it and debate on the experience. Some of their missions will include exploring an “alien base” located 2,000 feet underwater off the coast of California, working with a renowned shaman at Preston Castle, and training with a top-secret government operative in methods of Remote Viewing.

This is definitely different from anything we have previously seen Rob Lowe in, but that is what makes this show so intriguing. It would appear from the trailer that this is something Lowe truly loves and is excited about. It could also mean fans get to see another side of the famous actor which is exciting in it’s own right.

A&E has revealed that the series will debut on Wednesday, August 2 at 10/9c, so if you’re not going to be home, make sure to set your DVRs. Kicking off the hour-long episode we will see Lowe and his sons visiting an abandoned boys’ reformatory in California with a history of haunted, vengeful spirits.

The Lowe Files is produced for A&E Network by Critical Content. Executive producers for Critical Content are Tom Forman, Jon Beyer, Brad Bishop, and Douglas McCallie. Rob Lowe will also serve as an executive producer. A&E Network executive producers include Elaine Frontain Bryant, Amy Savitsky, and Devon Hammonds.
