Prepare for Agents of SHIELD season 5, Grey’s Anatomy season 14 this weekend
This weekend on Netflix marks a great opportunity to try to catch up on some of these series, given that SHIELD season 4 is already on the service, while Grey’s Anatomy season 13 is going to be turning up this Saturday. The same goes for Scandal season 7. This means effectively that you could have enough ABC-related entertainment for the remainder of June if these shows are all your cup of tea.
If we were to give you quick season reviews of all three of them, it would go along the lines of this.
Agents of SHIELD – By far its strongest season. It’s almost as though cutting the budget and going intimate allows the show to be more unique in some ways. The Ghost Rider stuff at the start of the season was very cool, and despite a sag or two in the middle with the labeled “LMD” part of the story, the final episodes within the Framework and beyond are some of the finest writing ever done on the show. Mallory Jansen continues to be a revelation in everything that she’s in, and she plays such a wide array of characters this season.
Grey’s Anatomy – While not the most memorable season of the show, it was far from the worst. You saw some steady storytelling throughout as you learn more about Nathan Riggs, come to figure out some more about Owen’s history, and also witness all of the aftermath of what happened with Alex at the end of season 12.
Scandal – It’s a good thing that ABC is deciding to end the show with season 7 given that this season, despite some high points here and there, was a bit of a mess, and only gets messier as time goes by. The fascinating with espionage and secret government organizations has effectively taken too much attention off of Olivia Pope, the strong, capable heroine who at the start of the series was the person leading the charge in the most noble of fashions.
