Shadowhunters season 2 spoilers: Possible Sebastian changes ahead
One of the challenges for the Freeform series is simply this: How do you make viewers of the show buy into this guy’s trajectory? How do you surprise people out there familiar with the source material? This seems to be one of the real challenges of the upcoming season 2 story, and based on what Katherine McNamara had to say on the subject to TV Guide, this is something that the writers behind the scenes are very much aware of. With that, you better be prepared for a few changes to the story:
“Book fans will know sort of what Sebastian was in that, but as you know with our show we love to make changes and we love to sort of twist what the expectations are a little bit, which is actually lovely … I find it very entertaining as a book fan to see how the writers interpret the story that’s been establish and sort of give it a new life through the television series.”
This shouldn’t necessarily be seen as a sign that Shaodwhunters season 2 will completely distort the entire character, but there is an interest in trying to keep viewers on their toes who assume that they know what is coming. What we can say is that it’s not going to take much time for Tudor to appeal to viewers out there as a compelling character; without giving away, there are a couple of moments in Monday’s episode that will stand out right from the moment that they are first season. There are ten episodes still to come this season, and you better prepare for things to get big, bold, and certainly rather epic.
