Hawaii Five-0 season 7 finale spoilers: Kono’s big decision

The Hawaii Five-0 season 7 finale is going to be coming onto CBS when we roll around to Friday, May 12, and while we have a feeling that there will be a lot of big action set pieces in the hour (there often is at this point), there’s also going to be something different. You will see some drama, a few emotional stories, and Kono making a key decision in the midst of a sex-trafficking case. This is a storyline that you first saw play out a little earlier this year.

In the end, this finale marks a great opportunity to revisit some of what is going on here — we like how the show is taking some of the stories on this season. While you don’t necessarily get resolution to a case right away, we are getting a cool opportunity to see the show take on something, give it room to breath, and then visiting it again down the road when more information is available. We feel like this may actually be a little more realistic to what actually happens sometimes in the real world.

Now, let’s hand down a few more details when it comes to the official synopsis for the hour:

“McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) risks his life when Five-0 attempts their most dangerous rescue yet of young girls trapped in the sex trafficking ring they have been tracking this year.  Also, Kono (Grace Park), deeply affected by the case, makes a life-changing decision.”

Given that this is Hawaii Five-0, we wouldn’t be shocked if there was some big cliffhanger at the end of the hour that enables us some opportunities for season 8. Yet, we’re not one of those people who thinks such a thing is necessary. To us as a viewer, we know that we’re going to watch season 8, and don’t need some sort of epic tease in order to get us ready for that. What really matters more to us is that we have an emotional conclusion to the season that makes the journey satisfying. This may be the greatest Hawaii Five-0 season we’ve seen to date, so we’re pretty confident we’ll be getting that.
