The Leftovers season 3 episode 2 promo: What’s next for HBO series?

Moving past tonight’s premiere episode, The Leftovers season 3 episode 2 airing on HBO next week will be a story with a few other unique challenges that it needs to take on. The story that you’re going to be getting is one that is largely about falsehoods, detecting them, and trying to understand better the emotional state of people within the Departure. After so many people vanished without rhyme or reason, it does make a certain degree of sense that there would be people out there who would want to try and exploit what happened for the sake of personal gain.

The synopsis below gives you a little more information.

The Leftovers season 3 episode 2 synopsis – “In her official capacity as fraud investigator for the Department of Sudden Departure (D.S.D.), Nora (Carrie Coon) travels to St. Louis to investigate a possible scam that involves convincing the family members of The Departed there’s a way to see their loved ones again.”

Is there a way that this could be feasible? Technically, almost anything is, especially since we’ve already seen Kevin Garvey venture off into his own afterlife-universe in his own way in “International Assassin.” You cannot write anything off, but it is fair to be skeptical.

The bigger thing superficially to be excited for here is a chance to see a Carrie Coon showcase given that she often shines in such moments; judging how the photo above is also from this episode, though, it’s fair to say that she will spend at least some time in Texas, as well.

Here is the bit of bad news that we have to offer up — by the time we reach the end of this episode, there are only six more remaining. After only two episodes, we’ll be a quarter of the way to the end of the series. If that doesn’t send a chill down your spine, what will?
