Chicago Justice episode 2 preview: A Chicago PD crossover; a Law & Order connection
Tonight, the debut of Chicago Justice came at the end of an epic three-part crossover event, one that saw twists and turns aplenty across the board.
So where are we going moving into Chicago Justice episode 2? “Uncertainty Principle” is the first installment that is airing at the standard timeslot at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it’s going to be one that challenges the State’s Attorney team in a different way than what we saw tonight. It’s also going to be an episode that features a major Chicago PD crossover as LaRoyce Hawkins stops by as Atwater. For those of you wanting a big Kevin story, you’re actually getting it on a different version of the franchise.
Synopsis – “Stone (Philip Winchester) and the State’s Attorney team investigates the chain of events following the arrest and death of a young man, ultimately seeking charges against Police, Fire Department and Medical personnel, only to have a recalcitrant Grand Jury indict a single individual: Officer Kevin Atwater (guest star LaRoyce Hawkins). Paul Robinette (guest star Richard Brooks reprising his LAW & ORDER role) defends Atwater.”
One of the big things that we expect to see for many of the upcoming Chicago Justice episodes is an attempt to give you some further crossovers and chances to expand the universe. It could boost the show’s ratings, and serve as a natural extension to what’s going on over on PD. After all, one of the big things that you do have to remember here for a minute is that it makes sense to connect the two shows as frequently as you can.
Now, we just have to hope that the show’s ratings start strong so that when the show airs on Sunday, it has some momentum behind it. That is the big challenge, mostly because NBC’s seen some struggles as of late when it comes to getting eyeballs over to that timeslot over the past couple of years. Putting this show after Little Big Shots, which drew big numbers last year, should help it.
