‘Ballers’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Graceland’ alum Serinda Swan set to appear
The third season of “Ballers” won’t be premiering on HBO until later this year, but isn’t it nice to get a little bit of casting news here and there while we wait?
Today, we’re specifically coming to you with the news that Serinda Swan of “Graceland” fame is going to be a major part of the upcoming season in some form. According to a report from Deadline, the actress (who is also known for her appearances on “Chicago Fire” and “Breakout Kings”) is going to be appearing across several episodes of the Dwayne Johnson comedy in the role of Chloe Day. At the moment, what we know about her is that she is a smart, resourceful hotel management executive at one of the best resort hotels in the city of Las Vegas. It’s not entirely clear what Johnson’s Spencer Strasmore or any other character on the show would be doing in Sin City, but when you consider the sort of characters who appear regularly on this show, it’s easy to understand why some hard-partying athletes would have an interest in turning up there.
It will be interesting in general seeing what the journey for Spencer is season 3 is all about, largely because of where he’s coming from moving out of season 2. After giving the speech that he did to some of the players, it is fairly clear that he is coming off of one of his lowest moments of his career. He had to admit to not only abusing his own money, but the money of the people who are closest to him. Now, he’s earned the trust to be licensed to actually help players get through their troubles, but it is still not entirely clear how he will help himself. He’s still got addiction issues, and an inherent need to impress beyond his needs.
Given that we do like Swan’s work, it should prove fun to see what she brings to more of a comedic environment.
