‘Saturday Night Live’: Kristen Stewart hosting February 4; Alessia Cara performing
Tonight, “Saturday Night Live” is bringing you a show that certainly has the potential to be rather interesting and then some. After all, just remember for a moment here precisely what the show had to work with following the Inauguration, and the presence of a potentially-great host in Aziz Ansari.
As most eagle-eyed “SNL” fans likely realized while watching this show, though, NBC had not announced going into this episode precisely who was going to be hosting the next installment, or when it would air. That’s what we were on pins and needles waiting to find out for most of the episode.
Luckily, we come bearing good news within this article! Kristen Stewart is hosting the upcoming February 4 episode of the show. She’s someone who many people wanted to see host the show back during the “Twilight” era, but it never actually happened. Hopefully, she will bring a lot of comedy to the proceedings, though this is a very different sort of venue than one that we’ve seen her in before.
As for the musical guest, Alessia Cara is going to be coming on board. She’s certainly current, and this shows that Lorne Michaels and company are fine going in a mainstream-pop direction after having some indie artists on the show over the course of the past several episodes (prior to Big Sean coming on tonight).
There is no new episode of the show airing on NBC next week; beyond that, what should make this episode so interesting is that this episode will air the day before the Super Bowl. There could be some comedy there, but at the same time, we also figure that there could be some more political talk based on what Donald Trump does over the course of the next couple of weeks.
