‘Game of Thrones’ season 7: Emilia Clarke and a bit of behind-the-scenes fun
The seventh season of “Game of Thrones” will be coming your way on HBO in the summer, and production is still underway on some of the scenes.
As a matter of fact, filming has just begun once more in various parts of the world in 2017 after a Christmas hiatus, with one of the latest showcases of this coming via the Instagram account of one Emilia Clarke. She is supporting her signature Daenerys Targeryan wig, and making a series of silly faces to the camera. (Her Instagram is well worth a follow if you’re on there — many of her posts range from silly to insightful.)
The fact that Clarke is just back to work may make it a little more unlikely that she will be present for tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, where her co-star Lena Headey is nominated for her work as Cersei Lannister. (We recently detailed how Clarke was one of the biggest snubs of the year.) Luckily, it’s easy to imagine scenarios where she is nominated many more times in the future.
As for where her character’s story is going, the easiest assumption to make is a battle at sea versus Euron Greyjoy and the army from the Iron Islands. After all, we don’t see Daenerys willing to submit to joining this army, and we see her and her army wanting to retaliate. If she makes it to Westeros, she could then have the support of Dorne, which could aid in her quest to overtake what is a vulnerable King’s Landing at the moment with Cersei on the throne and with much of their forces scattered and emotionally distraught.
The only key support who’s a question mark right now is Ser Jorah, given that it is so hard to tell whether or not he and his greyscale will be able to be an asset at all in the story to come.
