‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: Voight, Nick Wechsler’s character to have tension

Chicago PD -When it was first announced that Nick Wechsler of “Revenge” fame was coming to “Chicago PD” in the role of Kenny Rixton, our first thought was excitement. What was also interesting was that this character was going to have some sort of history with Jason Beghe’s character of Voight.

Now, we come around to some of the bad news here when it comes to the character: Rixton and Voight don’t necessarily have a peachy-keen relationship, and we’re going to find out a little bit later this season in an episode entitled “Sanctuary.” This story could be in part about potential suspects in a case hiding within a church, and potentially being protected there by a priest and some of the parishioners. This presents a rather significant conflict for the PD, since they don’t want to be perceived as disturbing the peace or interfering with worship.

In getting back to Rixton, however, at one point during the investigation Voight is going to catch him in a lie. It’s a little bit too early to see precisely what this means, but you can imagine that the tension between these two guys could easily boil over. They’ve been around each other a rather long time, and as a result of that, know a variety of ways in order to make one another tick.

For those of you who are curious, we can also go ahead and tell you that Rixton will be spending some of his time partnering up with Atwater, which makes some sense given that he will be helping to fill an opening on the team left by Ruzek after he takes part in a case that throws him deep undercover.

“Chicago PD” returns next week on a special night in Tuesday, where it will wrap up a two-part crossover with “Chicago Fire.” We’ve spoken to the showrunners about that event, so be sure to check back early next week to read up all about it.
