‘Shadowhunters’ season 2: Check out the new opening title sequence
The second season of “Shadowhunters” is going to be premiering on Freeform come Monday, January 2, and as you prepare for that coming on the air, we’ve got something else for you below worthy of checking out: The new opening title sequence for the show!
This one is, exciting, dramatic, and it does serve as a little bit of a nice reflection to everything else we’ve been hearing about the show as of late — namely, that this is going to be a little bit darker in tone than the first go-around. There were some creative changes behind the scenes between seasons 1 and 2, which is certainly interesting given that this is a show that did have a good bit of success the first go-around and was one of the most social programs out of any out there. We recently wrote that per one estimation, it had more social engagement than any other new show in 2016 in between Tumblr, YouTube, Facebook, and many other sources.
If there are two little criticisms that we’d throw out there about this, we wish that they would do something more akin to “Teen Wolf” and give you the actor names, given that this is one of those times you can give yourself license to throw those out there. Also, we wish that the title would remain on the screen for a second or two longer so that you could better utilize the graphic.
As we noted, though, these criticisms are super-minor; the show should be proud of what they’ve put together here, and it gives the show a sleek, dramatic way to set up the story itself. There’s hopefully going to be a lot of great drama coming up this time around…
