‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: First look at August’s return
For everyone out there who loves August on “Once Upon a Time,” the good news that we have to share today is rather simple: He’s coming back! He was once a more integral part of the world, and we’re now getting set to reemerge once more.
For us, most of our excitement towards seeing him stems from the notion that he remains one of the series’ most-interesting characters. He’s not like anyone else we’ve ever seen within the world of the show. For example, he’s incredibly smart, incredibly resourceful, and he’s such an interesting departure from the source material. One of the larger frustrations that we’ve had as of late about where the story has gone is that we’re not differentiating some of the people we’ve met as much from their fairy-tale counterpart. Maybe this is as a means to make things closer to the Disney movies, but we missed the days where we had someone like this character (played by Eion Bailey) in the world.
As for the circumstances surrounding this character, that is something that does remain unclear. Is he going to bridge the gap between Storybrooke and the alternate universe that Emma Swan and Regina now find themselves in? We know that his knowledge of mysticism and other things otherworldly is pretty immense, so it’s possible. What we can offer you at the moment is the photo below of Eion Bailey via TVLine; here is what executive producer Adam Horowitz had to say:
“We love Eion Bailey, we love August and we love Pinocchio … We will get to see him in multiple worlds and realms.”
Unfortunately, it’s going to be a good while before we see him given that the character’s debut would be at the earliest March, given that we are still a rather-long time away from the show coming back on the air. When it does, at least we’ll get a chance to see some new episodes run straight through until May.
