‘The X Factor’ UK: Fan crashes stage after Honey G performance

X factor -

Right when you think things aren’t going to get any crazier on “The X Factor,” then something like this happens at the end of a Honey G performance.

Following the controversial rapper’s performance of “Can’t Touch This” on Saturday night’s new episode, some random fan came on stage to seemingly party along with her — or at least that’s what we think happened. For a minute there, we thought that there was some sort of celebrity guest who was up there to cheer her on, but the moment Simon Cowell got out of his chair it was clear something different was going on.

Luckily, there was no real cause for concern, as the man was promptly removed and Honey G ended up being okay. While we all have a little bit of fun at her expense at times, you don’t want to see anything bad happen to her on the show. She did look a little bit shaken for a second after it happened, but she seemed ready to brush it off and move forward.

We’re assuming here that whoever this stage-crasher was, they were probably benign and had no plans to do anything seriously terrible to Honey G after the performance. for the most part, these people are just looking for a little bit of attention. Still, you gotta be careful since these incidents have been scary over the years. We saw this earlier this year on “Dancing with the Stars,” when some Ryan Lochte protesters crashed the stage after his first dance. Meanwhile, on “Britain’s Got Talent” years ago a woman in the orchestra got up and proceeded to hurl eggs in the direction of Simon Cowell. When you make a TV show and people get emotionally invested, there are people who tend to take things a little too far.

You can see a brief glimpse of what went down in the video below. Kudos to the camera-people for not letting this guy get a ton of publicity.

Update: There’s also a conspiracy theory out there now that this was all a setup
