‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ top 11 rankings: Do Will or Jay stand a chance?
The latest episode of “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” is a mere matter of hours away, and this time around, what makes things extra special is that you’re getting more than one episode! That’s right: There are two installments coming up, and we’re going to do our best within this article to try and figure out precisely where all of the players stand, and who is most likely to get out of here alive.
As per usual, we are ranking based on strategy, screen time, challenge ability, threat level, and whether or not the person is someone who could win over the jury in the end.
11. Will Wahl (last week: 11) – Unless something in the game dramatically changes, all signs point towards Will being the next one to go. Jay’s got an idol, and if he plays it, he’s spared. Will’s the next-best target if the alliance sticks together, and we do think he’s probably on borrowed time given that he hasn’t been set up as a major player this season.
10. Adam Klein (7) – As entertainment, we love Adam, and he’s probably one of the people we’d get along with the best in life. The problem is that in “Survivor” he’s already spent way too much of his in-game capital by playing a little too hard, and then having Taylor blow up his advantage to everyone. We don’t think the advantage is all that threatening, but the perception of his keeping secrets is dangerous.
9. Bret LaBelle (9) – That was a really fun character moment of Bret getting drunk and getting in the pool on this past episode. With that said, what’s Bret doing strategically to make us think that he’s got a real shot at winning this game? At the moment, the best thing he can hope for is a vote or two at the end.
8. Justin “Jay” Starrett (8) – If Jay somehow makes it to the end, he wins. We don’t see how there’s any other conclusion to this story. Given that he has an immunity idol still and we know he’s kept a bond with Sunday at the very least, there’s a chance that if Will goes, he could be scooped up by someone wanting to make a move and he’ll last a while longer.
7. Jessica Lewis (5) – We’re going here mostly with “what have you done for me lately?” in mind. Jessica’s been almost nonexistent in this game for weeks, so we’re not sure that this constitutes someone who is going to win this game, even if she has some strategic clout.
6. Ken McNickle (6) – The same really goes for Ken, given that he’s not really having a big role in any key decisions. Our other concern for him is that he’s such an obvious challenge threat that he is an easy boot.
5. Sunday Burquest (10) – Is Sunday starting to come alive? We saw her really as a solo player for the first time virtually all season this past episode, and we like what she was thinking. Maybe it’s a tad premature to target Jessica now, but it’s good that she’s identified a threat and seems to be keeping Jay relatively close.
4. Hannah Shapiro (4) – We’re still uncertain as to if she can win the game based on her current trajectory, but we love the spot that she’s in and her knowledge of the game should really be an asset to her. There’s no way we envision her going home Wednesday.
3. Chris Hammons (3) – It’s dangerous ranking Chris this high because there’s a reasonably good chance he leaves during the double-episode. Yet, we don’t want to be persuaded of anything because of a preview that’s out there. While he’s a threat, we do like his social game, he seems to understand the strategy, and he’s got an array of allies out there in between Bret, Sunday, and to a certain extent Zeke.
2. David Wright (2) – Who’s targeting David right now? Why do that? He’s got a very good chance of making it to the end in part because he should be able to stay off of people’s radar for another few weeks.
1. Zeke Smith (1) – In the end, Zeke’s playing far too good of a game to move him at present. Ever since the tribe swap, he’s played a game that is the most dominant we’ve seen since Jeremy’s in “Cambodia.” The two actually do have a lot in common in that their natural charm seems to be one of their greatest assets out there.
