‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 6 theory: Is Julian Albert actually Savitar?

Felton -

We know that we’ve spent a lot of time as of late discussing Julian Albert being one of many villains on “The Flash” so far this season, but by the end of Tuesday night’s new episode, the show certainly poured a ton of gasoline on many of these theories and then threw a match on it. There were some clues that they wanted everyone to clearly see.

The biggest bit of evidence that actor Tom Felton is playing one of the show’s principal villains is this: Julian called in sick on the same day in which The Flash and Wally West tried to ambush Alchemy. You can easily justify this by him needing to prepare for an onslaught, or putting him in a situation where he would have to explain why he suddenly disappeared right in the midst of the latest mission.

Maybe you can claim that Julian’s absence ties him more towards being Alchemy than Savitar, mostly because if he’s the god of speed, you would have to think that he had the powers to be in several different places all at one time. Why would he need a lot of time to prepare? The only reason that you can argue that he is still Savitar is simply because him being Alchemy almost seems too obvious, and we don’t know why Julian would want to work on clues that would bring people even closer to himself rather than deflect what was really going on.

With Savitar, you may have a character so confident that they genuinely believe that they can do anything, and have no real fear of being found out or uncovered as a threat. Also, working alongside Barry Allen offers Julian an opportunity to monitor not only The Flash, but a number of different meta-humans. He could get a front-row seat for checking up on Alchemy’s work.

One way or another, we think that Julian’s got a much larger purpose on this season, and right now it’s all about figuring out what it is. Hopefully, we do learn that by the end of the winter finale, otherwise this hiatus is going to feel exceptionally long without answers.
