NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Where Darby Walker, Aaron Gibson, Belle Jewel stand on Team Miley Cyrus

Miley -Tonight, “The Voice” is kicking off the Live Playoffs, and they’re doing so with a show that is all sorts of epic and then some. There are twenty people performing, there will be live voting, and the coaches will also be making their own decisions as to who to save. Blame the election for this, since the lack of new episodes Tuesday is causing the show to rush things along.

In looking at Team Miley Cyrus, we’ve got arguably the most unique team this season. We’ve got five people who are all very different from each other, and they are all good at what they do so much that we really think that a lot of this is just going to come down to personal preference. We’re ranking this group based on who we perceive will be the most popular moving forward, and also overall performance quality and perceived connection with the coach.

5. Sophia Urista – If there’s one place you really don’t want to be montaged, it is in the Knockout Rounds. Sophia’s talented, but she’s coming into a crowded team at a really inopportune time, and without anywhere close to the momentum that other people in the competition currently have.

4. Belle Jewel – In our mind, Belle’s probably the biggest darkhorse of the entire top 20. She didn’t get a whole lot of airtime throughout most of the first part of the show, but we really dug her Knockout Round performance of “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” Her biggest hurdle is that even still, casual voters may not know who she is.

3. Aaron Gibson – Aaron’s got a ton of tools to go really far on the show. He’s the only guy on this team, and superficially he’ll of course stand out because of that. He’s also got a little bit of diversity in that he can do country songs like “Die a Happy Man” and also rock songs like “Losing My Religion” with credibility.

2. Ali Caldwell – Ali’s voice is, to be frank, insane. She has such an innate knowledge of where notes go and can do runs completely unlike anyone else in the top 20. We do think she’s the most talented person on Team Miley in terms of pure ability, but there are some other components that go into how we rank people.

1. Darby Walker – If you’re looking for the total package right now, Darby has the most winner potential. She has a very good voice that is incredibly unique in this field, she’s got a personal style that’s easily-identifiable, and she also is the recipient of a ton of airtime over the course of the season. Thanks in part to them getting to double-dip in that Olympics special, we’ve got both Darby and We McDonald very high on our list of winner contenders.
