‘The Bachelorette’ alum Luke Pell to record song inspired by JoJo Fletcher for new album
While Luke Pell was presented as a veteran and a small-town guy on this past season of “The Bachelorette,” there’s another part of his life that has not been profiled as much: A singer and songwriter. He’s been working on a new album, and apparently, one of the songs on it will be inspired in part by his time with JoJo Fletcher. Speaking to Us Weekly, he had the following to say on the subject:
“A lot of artists write about past relationships and current ones. You write about the good and the bad and the ugly as a way to paint of picture of what happened … You’re a storyteller at the end of the day. So absolutely, there will be some of that about JoJo in my writing.”
Of course, it is fairly easy to be cynical on this subject and proclaim that Luke is being opportunistic; given that his album is coming out early next year, around the same time as the new “Bachelor” season featuring Luke Pell, we understand that further.
However, at the same exact time how does this make him different from any other performer out there? You write based on what you know, and JoJo is a part of that. We do believe that his feelings for her were real, and he’s gotta be a businessman if he wants to have a lengthy career. Putting this sort of song on the album, even if he doesn’t directly mention her name, is the right way to do this.
At one point, Luke was in discussions to become the new star of “The Bachelor”; in the end, though, the producers went with Nick Viall instead.
