‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: Speaking further on the Jeremiah Danvers mystery
Where is Jeremiah Danvers on “Supergirl“? It’s one of the series’ biggest questions, though for the time being, the presumption here is that the character is still somewhere out there alive. The twist is that we don’t know if it’s the same Jeremiah that Kara and Alex Danvers once knew. This is someone that, per some of the Project Cadmus warnings that are out there, may have transformed in some way from the person they once were. Could he by made over into something like Metallo? At the moment, anything is possible.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though any of the powers-that-be are planning to dish out any confirmed answers in the near future. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that maintaining this mystery is very important, as is finding a way to surprise viewers in the process:
“We want to keep the mystery of who and what Jeremiah is alive … He’s been under Cadmus’ control for the last 12 years. The Jeremiah that we see might not be exactly what people expect.”
The biggest hope that we’ve got for this storyline is that in some way, Jeremiah can find his way back to being there for Alex and Kara, even if it is just for a few moments so that they can have a little more closure with him than they once did. The entire situation reminds us somewhat of “The Flash” with Henry Allen — eventually he was released from prison, and while he did not fit into the show easily on a regular basis, at the same time he produced some rather-heartfelt moments along the way. We’ll ultimately take just about anything that the show provides for us along the way.
