‘Mom’ season 4: Chris Pratt to join wife Anna Faris for guest spot
For the upcoming fourth season, “Mom” has landed some rather-significant star power, and they didn’t need to go too far from their established home base in order to get it.
Per a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Anna Faris’ real-life husband Chris Pratt will be appearing in an upcoming 2017 episode as Mike, Marjorie’s nephew and a charming horseback-riding instructor. Marjorie tries to tell her that he’s off-limits to Christy, but it does not exactly seem as though Christy is going to listen to said instructions.
Pratt is hardly a stranger to television, given that most of his claim to fame come from playing Andy Dwyer on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” for several seasons before transitioning over to “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World.” He’s now one of Hollywood’s most-profitable stars, and all indications to us suggest that this isn’t changing anytime soon with several other movie projects coming up.
As for whether or not this will be a ratings boost for “Mom,” that remains to be seen. It may generate a little bit more interest, but in general we feel like this show’s got an established audience that will stick around for it no matter who is stopping by as a guest star. The show returns with its fourth-season premiere on Thursday, and if you haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth checking out as one of those few great examples of a bittersweet sitcom that is out there. There’s a lot of comedy, but at the same time there are softer, heartbreaking moments that take place.
Who knows? Maybe this guest appearance will give us a chance to see a little bit more of Pratt at some point down the road.
