‘Chicago Fire’ season 5, episode 2 sneak peek: Can Severide defend himself from charges?
During the fifth-season premiere of “Chicago Fire,” we saw Kelly Severide find himself in some pretty serious trouble. After all, he went after Grant with a knife during the premiere, an act that he did out of self-defense in order to keep Stella safe from her angry husband.
Yet, did he go too far with his attempt to keep her safe? That is what the police are trying to figure out in the sneak peek below, courtesy of TV Guide, from this episode. He does his part to state his case as clearly as possible, making it known that he was simply trying to protect Stella, and was not out to deliberate slash the guy in the neck. That’s just what happened as he was looking to play protector.
Here’s the unfortunate thing: Stella’s off caring for her husband in an ambulance, and we’re not sure how she will feel about all of this in the event Grant dies. We also don’t know how much the police are going to buy into his story if she has a take on events that is in any way different from his own. We don’t want to see Taylor Kinney’s character get arrested, especially since that could lead to some dramatic implications with his job. We just have to be prepared for almost any and all possibilities to unfold at this point. This is a show where nobody’s guaranteed anything, and that includes some time on the outside.
If there’s one other thing Severide has going for him, it may be this: He’s got a heck of a big family over at Firehouse 51 who is more than likely ready and willing to stand up for him.
