‘The X Factor’ UK: Why didn’t Brooks Way perform? Controversy over ‘investigation’
Even before the start of tonight’s performance show for “The X Factor,” there still managed to be some rather significant controversy regarding one of the acts set to perform — as a matter of fact, it was so severe that it led to them not performing.
Before the show, it was announced that Brooks Way, the two-person group on Louis Walsh’s Groups, were not going to be performing due to “circumstances.” According to a report from the Daily Star, the last-minute change had to do with an investigation into one of the members that they might have been involved in an incident of violence. There are still many details that need to be made clear, and hopefully they will be over the course of the coming days. For now, much of this is still strange and unusual — even for this show. The two members of the group were reportedly told mere hours before they were to hit the stage that they wouldn’t be performing.
What was even stranger was how it was barely even addressed during the show itself, which certainly made matters all the more confusing. The aforementioned report claims that the two guys were moved out of the mansion for now, while the matter is being investigated further.
The truth here is that, regardless of what happens next, this is a serious amount of adversity to throw at people right before one of the biggest nights of their lives. If the allegations are as serious as reported and are true, it is certainly understandable why “The X Factor” would want to make this move. Their reputation is extremely critical to them, and as a result of that they need to make sure that they keep that intact or face a public-relations nightmare down the road.
