‘Chicago Med’ season 2, episode 4 preview: A possible outbreak; Dr. Charles’ daughter
The second season of “Chicago Med” has an opportunity to do something that was not really possible during its fairly-short first run on television: Getting to dive deeper into some of these characters and their pasts. For example, we’re not sure how much time we had last season to meet Dr. Charles’ daughter Robyn, but we are happy to be bringing her in now. Odds are that by the time she gets settled in, she will have far more going on beyond just studying an unusual infection.
The main reason we focus on this arrival more than anything else at present is rather simple: We’re not getting too much else to dive into from a promotional standpoint, and it’s hard to spend too much time looking into case-of-the-week plotlines.
Synopsis – “Several patients are discovered to have the same rare infection, prompting Dr. Charles’ (Oliver Platt) daughter Robyn (guest star Mekia Cox), an epidemiologist, to be brought in to find the common link. Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) work on an elderly man who is discovered to be very ill, but a conflict in how to best treat him develops between his son and his young girlfriend. Meanwhile, Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) tries to help a young drug addict and Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) tends to a patient who is dear to her heart.”
Video – The promo tonight teases more of what we are seeing Robyn in town; specifically, this infection could lead to an outbreak that puts the entire city in danger. The doctors are going to need to crack down on this, and quickly.
