‘Big Brother OTT’ spoilers: Who’s getting evicted — and why?
Tonight marks the first actual “show” for “Big Brother: Over the Top,” and it will end with getting a chance to see one of three people being taken out of the game: Cornbread, Kryssie, or Danielle. The past few days serve as an interesting indictment on the differences between this show and the summer flagship one, especially when it comes to one key difference: The role in America in determining the way the game is played.
When Cornbread was first nominated by the voting public, it sent a loud-and-clear message to the players that we weren’t down for some of his antics, his alliance with mad-with-power Monte, or some of the offensive things he’s been saying in the house. Scott floated the idea of some of the guys detaching themselves from a “sinking ship,” and Shelby in particular spent some time over the past 24 hours reminding people that Cornbread says offensive stuff. In this house, poisoning people does work as an effective strategy since to use the old Big Jeff question, there are many people who’d prefer to “lose and be loved” than “win and be hated.”
As a result of some of these moves, plus some solid campaigning by Danielle, Cornbread as of this writing appears doomed — and him having another vote coming his way from America probably does not help. This is a sign that the current generation of feeders want to see fun, engaging characters, but not people who are A) far more boring than advertised and B) cause drama in the form of hateful statements.
Before signing off for now, here’s a couple of other things to keep in mind.
1. Danielle planted the seed to Shane that getting Monte out when he’s vulnerable could very well be a good thing; given that much of the house is against him, it’s likely smart for them to turn their backs and let someone else be the one to send him packing. (On a different note Danielle, stop saying you’re better than Zakiyah. We’re no Zakiyah stan, but at the same time there’s nothing more irritating than someone saying they’re superior than someone else. Let the public decide that.)
2. Shelby is a target for a ton of people in the house, but the thinking towards her is that everyone knows what she’s up to. Therefore, getting rid of her is a waste. Maybe she’ll stick around long enough to win people back over, but she’s not the easiest to get along with — even if it makes for fun feeds.
This update is accurate as of 12:00 Big Brother Time on Wednesday, October 5.
