‘Poldark’ season 2, episode 6 preview: How Ross, Elizabeth deal with death
There was a moment that many on “Poldark” were preparing for — or at least those of you who know the original series well. That moment took place on Sunday’s episode, and we bid farewell to the character of Francis.
So where in the world do we go from here? The reality here of course is that this is a show that does not allow for much stopping in the way of drama, and with that Ross has a lot to contend with. Unfortunately for him, right when he starts to get a leg up, he is forced to face further hardship. The synopsis below offers more details:
“Ross tries to financially support Elizabeth in the wake of Francis’s death, but George calls in Ross’s debt. Demelza toils loyally to protect all at Nampara, and Dwight and Caroline continue to meet in secret.”
For those of you looking for something a little bit lighter next week, maybe you will have that with Dwight and Caroline — maybe. It could just be light by comparison. What was perhaps the most shocking about what we saw tonight was that there was no preview at all for the next episode that played out on the show. We were left instead with merely a “to be continued” title card, reminding us that there is much more to come before the series allows us an opportunity to breathe. Let’s just hope that we are all ready for it emotionally, given that we get the sense that there is a long, difficult path ahead for Ross to find himself in the midst of such pain.
