‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Honey G, Samantha Lavery, Yes Lad among returning acts

This weekend marks the beginning of Judges’ Houses on “The X Factor” UK, and as it turns out, there are going to be a few familiar faces turning up. In addition to the picks made by the judges while at the Six Chair Challenge, the other judges have each selected one additional person for each other who will appear at this stage. That’s an interesting twist, but we wonder if it is one that will amount to anything given that the majority of them were not chosen by their original mentor and there is therefore no incentive to really keep any of them around.

Ultimately, here are some of the choices.

Samantha Lavery – She was chosen for Simon Cowell’s Girls by Louis Walsh, and this may be the most sound choice of all. From the moment that she performed on the show, we felt fairly confident that she was going to make it far. It was honestly a shock to her not make Judges’ Houses on her own.

Yes Lad – They were chosen by Sharon Osbourne for Louis, and this is another worthy choice. While not incredibly innovative, what they do is good for their target audience and they’re reasonably enjoyable.

Saara Aalto – She was chosen by Nicole Scherzinger for Sharon’s team, and while we liked her audition, her Six-Chair Challenge performance didn’t go well. Also, Sharon just doesn’t seem to be a fan. We’re not sure what her chances are.

Ryan Lawrie – Finally, we turn to Simon’s choice for Nicole’s team, and he’s a pretty good singer! Unfortunately, there’s nothing all that notable about him.

Also, Honey G is for whatever reason returning, as the “realist” rapper this season is replacing Ivy Grace Paredes, who was not able to travel due to visa concerns.
