‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ finale: Carly Waddell on Evan Bass romance

BP -While “Bachelor in Paradise” has taken us on quite a journey over the course of this season, we’re not sure that there has been any couple quite like Carly Waddell and Evan Bass when it comes to the journey. Early on this season, we’re not sure that even they knew precisely what to make of each other! There were certainly moments where it looked like this was never going to work in a million years.

However, over the course of the summer they have found a way to make it work, and it has all led to them being in the position that they are entering the finale where we could easily see the two engaged before we get around to the end of Tuesday night. It’s a position that, to be fair, Carly found herself in last season with Kirk. What makes it different this time? That is something she explained recently to Glamour:

“Evan and I are completely on the same page feelings-wise, and Kirk and I never were. I think that’s why this is actually going to work. Evan was going for me since day one, and it took me a long time to catch up. I think when I finally did, magic happened. I don’t know, last year I feel like it just wasn’t right. I think what’s so cool…I have to keep thanking Kirk because if he hadn’t [broken up with me], I wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t have met Evan, and I wouldn’t be in love. It’s crazy. I had no idea this would happen to me at all. At all.”

In the end, the reason why this works so much better to us is simply because there is this sort of wackiness to the two of them. They’re fun, and they have no problem bringing that out of each other. Also, unexpected romances just by nature are more fun to watch than ones you are able to telegraph from a mile away.
