‘MasterChef’ season 7, episode 14 exclusive preview: Nathan faints during tag-team challenge
One of the more prominent traditions on “MasterChef” these days is the tag-team challenge, where two different home cooks have to rotate back in forth in hopes of creating the best dish possible. It’s a high-stress environment since you have to constantly be paying attention to your surroundings, and judging from the exclusive sneak peek below for Wednesday’s two-episode event, it may have been a little too much for Nathan to bear.
Through most of the preview, Nathan remains quiet while his partner Shaun tries to communicate with him to no avail about their progress with a dish. Something does seem slightly off about him, but it’s not until he faints that anyone realizes that something is seriously wrong and things come to a screeching halt. Our feeling is just this is a stressful place to be sometimes in the first place, and then having so many people yelling / putting pressure on you only compounds things. (In all honesty, we’re surprised that fainting is not something that happens more often.)
Hopefully, he recovers from this fairly quickly and is able to continue moving forward in the competition. For the sake of this particular challenge, it remains to be seen how everyone will continue.
As of right now, we’re down to a very elite group of home cooks, and by the end of the next two episodes we’ll have an even better sense of who could be competing in the finale. Often with this show we do find ourselves either looking into the edit or past competition wins in order to figure out who will be at the end. However, with this season in particular it’s been harder to predict than ever. We’re still trying to recover mentally from the fact that both Terry and Eric are gone, despite each one of them being incredible contenders most of the season.
